Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Paro International Airport – Transfer to Thimphu
- Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly received by a representative from Oma Tours & Travels. We will assist you with all the necessary permit formalities and other services. Once formalities are completed, you will drive towards Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital city. On the way, enjoy a scenic drive along the picturesque Issuna river and stop briefly at Chuzom, the confluence of Paro and Thimphu rivers.
- After hotel check-in and some leisure time, we will visit:
- National Memorial Chorten: Built in memory of the Third Druk Gyalpo, King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, this iconic Tibetan-style stupa is a center of daily worship and a symbol of peace.
- Authentic Bhutanese Crafts Bazaar: Explore the beautiful arts and crafts of Bhutan and shop for souvenirs to take a piece of Bhutan home with you.
- Overnight stay: Thimphu
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing – Transfer to Paro
- After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Thimphu:
- Buddha Dordenma Statue: Located atop Kuenselphodrang hill, this massive 169-foot tall golden statue houses 125,000 smaller Buddha statues inside. The panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley from here are breathtaking.
- Takin Preserve Centre: A short drive brings you to Motithang to see Bhutan’s unique national animal, the Takin, along with other rare species like the Sambar and Serow.
- After lunch, depart for Paro:Airport Viewpoint: Capture stunning views of the Paro Valley and, if lucky, witness planes landing and taking off at one of the world’s most challenging airports.
- Kichu Lhakhang: One of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples, built in the 7th century.
- National Museum of Bhutan: Housed in a 17th-century watchtower, the museum showcases a fascinating collection of Bhutanese art, artifacts, and cultural exhibits.
- Rinpung Dzong ("Fortress on a Heap of Jewels"): An architectural marvel and historic fortress-monastery offering insights into Bhutan’s religious and cultural heritage.

Day 3: Excursion to Chele La Pass – Explore Paro
- After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to: Chele La Pass: At an altitude of 3,988 meters (13,000 feet), it is the highest motorable pass in Bhutan. The drive is steep and exciting, offering spectacular views of Mount Jomolhari and the Paro Valley. Enjoy a short trek amidst alpine meadows adorned with Himalayan blue poppies and prayer flags fluttering in the wind.
- In the evening: Leisurely stroll around Paro town, explore local cafés, shops, and soak in the charming vibe of this beautiful valley town.
